What's Up Lately

2008 was the first season for the Pitt County high school lacrosse club team. The other teams in the league range from first year teams to those in their third year. The teams included: Havelock, Onslow and Lookout club teams and New Bern High School.

Players for the Pitt County team had a range of experience. Some had played for the Pitt County Youth Pittbulls in 2006 and 2007. Other players were new to lacrosse. Many of the new players became hooked on lacrosse early in the season and developed their skills and understanding of the game.

Pitt County Schools and Recreation teamed up with Pitt County Youth Lacrosse so that the players who aged out of the youth program had the opportunity to continue playing lacrosse, the fastest growing sport in the U.S. The club team also gave all high school boys the opportunity to play lacrosse at an intramural level with other high schoolers in Pitt County and teams in eastern North Carolina.

Encourage all Pitt County high school aged boys and girls to attend the fall clinics and join the 2009 club teams. Registration information will be available at the September clinic or visit Pitt County Community Schools and Recreation website for registration information. www.pittcountync.gov/csandrecreation

Check out the season stats for all 3 PittLax teams for the 2008 Spring Seaon - Boys and Girls.

We've teamed up with Pitt County Community Schools and Recreation which started both 7-12 year olds Instructional Coed Lacrosse and a Pitt County High School U18 Club Team in Spring 2008. Check out their website or contact us at Pitt Youth Lacrosse for further information on these excellent opportunities to play Lacrosse here in Eastern North Carolina.

Remember - please send photos to be included on this site (all teams are welcome). We'll try our best to keep the site up to date and fresh. See the photos page for additional information.
